Royer’s annual food drive – Royer’s Stems Hunger – will take place June 20-28. The Royer’s Kids Club will help out with a special event on June 21 for children ages 5 to 12.
They are asked to donate a non-perishable food item as the price of admission and to bring an empty food can that they can fill with flowers to take home.
Participants also will receive a free balloon and have an opportunity to enter the kids club’s birthday card design contest for a chance to win a flower delivery.
Time slots are available at 10 a.m., 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. at each of our 17 stores in Berks, Cumberland, Dauphin, Lancaster, Lebanon and York counties. Registration is required by calling your nearest Royer’s store; click here for locations and contact information.
Royer’s Stems Hunger benefits the Central Pennsylvania Food Bank and the Greater Berks Food Bank.

Goss and 1968 Camaro win flowers for year in ‘Petals to the Metal’ photo contest
Jessica Goss and fiancé Jay Castleman of Dover, York County, have plenty of time to plan their wedding, which is scheduled for October 2016.
One thing is certain after they exchange their nuptial vows.
“You know how people go out in a limo?” Goss said. “We’ll go out in the car.”
The car is the couple’s prized 1968 Chevrolet Camaro SS, which received the most votes out of the more than 500 cast in Royer’s “Petals to the Metal” photo contest.
For winning, Goss will receive free flowers for all of 2014. Everyone who voted for the five finalists received a “buy one, get one free” coupon for loose bouquets.
The other finalists and their classic autos were Grover Amspacher, Dover, 1967 Plymouth Satellite/GTX; Vern Auker, Marietta, 1929 Ford A five-window coupe; Heather Gross, Spring Grove, 1967 Chevy Chevelle; Dotty Rhoades, Pequea, 1949 Plymouth special deluxe.

Orla Egolf wins Royer’s Kids Club birthday card design contest
Paula Egolf is a professional artist, her acrylic paintings having been exhibited at juried shows, galleries and museums.
Apparently she’s also an inspiration to her 10-year old granddaughter Orla Egolf (photo).
Orla, a fourth-grader in the School District of Lancaster, is the winner of Royer’s Flowers & Gifts’ 2013 birthday card design contest. Her prize is a flower delivery on her next birthday.
“She’s very much her own person,” Paula Egolf said of Orla. “Since she was a baby, she has always had a very definite bent toward color and design.”
Orla’s design – comprising a cake with candles, bumble bees, smiley-face balloon and, of course, flowers – graces the electronic card that all Royer’s Kids Club members will receive on their birthdays in the coming year.
The Royer’s Kids Club is free to ages 5 to 12. With parental permission, children may register for the kids club at any Royer’s store or online at www.royers.com/kidsclub. Membership benefits include a membership card, Web site activities, an e-mail newsletter, contests and in-store events.
