York County’s Rosie Witherup wins Royer’s Kids Club birthday card design contest

The photo shows a smiling Rosie Witherup wearing a headband.

Rosie’s design will adorn the birthday card that all members receive in the coming year. The third-grader likes crafting, koalas, dinosaurs and the color pink.

Everything’s coming up Rosie in the outcome of Royer’s Flowers & Gifts’ annual kids club birthday card design contest.

Rosie Witherup, whose favorite flower is, you may have guessed, a rose, is this year’s winner. Rosie just turned 8 and is entering third grade.

Her colorful design, featuring flowers, hearts and stars, will adorn the electronic card that kids club members will receive in the coming year. Her prize is a flower delivery.

Rosie is the daughter of Kirsten and Philip Witherup of West Manchester Township, York County. She has a sister and a brother.

Kirsten Witherup explained that Rosie loves crafting.

“As part of that, she thought it would be a really fun activity” to enter the card contest,” Kirsten said. Rosie also likes koalas, dinosaurs and the color pink.

The Royer’s Kids Club is free for children ages 5 to 12. Parents may register their children at any Royer’s store or at royers.com/kidsclub. Kids club benefits also include a membership card, online activities and a quarterly e-mail newsletter.

Allison Rivera wins Royer’s Flowers birthday card design contest

Allison Rivera, 9, enjoys playing any game with a ball, including tennis with a neighbor.
But regardless of whether the East Lampeter Township, Lancaster County, resident ever masters her forehand or backhand, she’s already a skilled freehand artist.
“She loves to draw, loves to color,” said her mother, Debbie. “She always has.”
And she’s gotten so good at it that the fourth-grader at J.E. Fritz Elementary School aced this year’s Royer’s Flowers & Gifts Kids Club birthday card design contest.
Her winning entry will adorn the electronic card that kids club members will receive on their birthdays in the coming year. Her design features white daisies set against a purple background and the message, “Have a Flowertastic Birthday!”
Allison’s prize is a free flower delivery on her next birthday.
Allison, whose family also includes her sister, Emily, 8, and father, Angel, loves to draw flowers and people, her mother said. One of her specialties is drawing a person’s face on the side of a cake when it is his or her birthday.
The Royer’s Kids Club is free to ages 5 to 12. With parental permission, children may register for the kids club here or at any Royer’s store. Kids club benefits include a membership card, online activities, a quarterly e-mail newsletter, contests and events.

Irish eyes were smiling at St. Patrick’s Day kids club event

It was the top o’ the morning and the afternoon at the March 14 Royer’s Kids Club event.
Children ages 5 to 12 had an opportunity, at 10 a.m. or 2 p.m., to make a special mum character in celebration of St. Patrick’s Day. Thanks to everyone who joined us for what is one of our most popular yearly events.
This year’s remaining kids club events are scheduled for June 27, Aug. 15 and Nov. 7.
The best way to stay on top of kids club happenings is to become a kids club member. It’s free and includes a membership card and welcome kit; online activity pages; and our quarterly email newsletter, Buds.

Thanks for another banner year of kids club events; we’ll have more in 2019!

It seems like just the other day we were kicking off the 2018 Royer’s Kids Club schedule with a Valentine’s Day-themed event. We’re not sure where the time went, but we had a lot of fun with everyone who attended one or more of our five kids events throughout the year.
The photos above are from our final event, held Nov. 10 in each of our stores and featuring a Veterans Day theme.
Thank you to everyone, children and parents alike, for participating this year. We love having you in our stores and sharing our knowledge and passion for everything related to flowers.
We wish everyone a safe, happy holiday season. Meanwhile, we are putting the finishing touches on plans for another great kids club schedule in the year ahead. We can’t wait to tell you all about it!

Marisa Heisey of East Lampeter wins Royer’s Kids Club birthday card design contest

Marisa Heisey still has a newspaper article on her bulletin board about winning the Royer’s Kids Club back-to-school coloring contest in 2011.
Six years later, she’s going to need another thumbtack.
Marisa, who is entering seventh grade at Gerald G. Huesken Middle School in the Conestoga Valley School District, won this year’s edition of the Royer’s Kids Club birthday card design contest.
Her design will be featured on the electronic card that Royer’s Kids Club members will receive on their birthdays in the coming year. Her prize is a free flower delivery on her birthday.
Marisa is the daughter of Nevin and Joy Heisey, East Lampeter Township. The couple’s son, Alex, won the kids club birthday card contest in 2010.
The Royer’s Kids Club is free to ages 5 to 12. With parental permission, children may register for the kids club online or at any Royer’s store. Kids club benefits include a membership card, online activities, quarterly e-mail newsletter, contests and in-store events.

Kicking off a new year of Royer’s Kids Club events

Love was in the air — and many children were in our stores — on Jan. 21 for the first of five Royer’s Kids Club events in 2017. Children ages 5 to 12 made a special “Be Mine, Valentine!” arrangement and received free balloons, as you can see in the photos below.
If you joined us, thank you for taking the time. If you missed out, please note that we have events scheduled for March 25, June 17, Sept. 9 and Nov. 11.
Finally, if you aren’t official members of the kids club, you can sign up for free by following this link.

A boo-tiful time at our final kids club event of 2016

Thank you to everyone who joined us for Saturday’s Royer’s Kids Club event, our final one of the year.
As you can see from these photos, we had a boo-tiful time celebrating Halloween and promoting our annual children’s book drive, Bouquets for Books.

Head of the class: photos from our back-to-school kids club event

Judging from these beautiful, smiling faces at Royer’s Kids Club’s back-to-school event on Aug. 22, these children are rested and ready for a challenging and rewarding new school year.
Thanks to all of the participants. We wish you the very best and encourage you to use every day as an opportunity to learn something new.
Meanwhile, we hope you’ll set aside time on Oct. 31 for our fifth and final kids club event of 2015. It’ll be Halloween, so be sure to wear your costume as we celebrate the holiday. It’s also the kick off our 10th annual “Bouquets for Books” children’s book drive to benefit area public libraries.
We look forward to seeing you then!
