The Royer’s Kids Club is getting a head start on the Easter Bunny with a free event in all Royer’s stores. Children ages 5 to 12 will have an opportunity to make a special Easter arrangement and will receive a balloon.
Time slots are available at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Registration is required by calling your nearest Royer’s store.

With snow coming, Saturday’s kids club event moved to Jan. 30
Into each life, some rain – and snow – must fall.
And with plenty of snow in the forecast for this weekend, we’re playing it safe and moving our Royer’s Kids Club event to Jan. 30.
If you already had reserved a spot at 10 a.m. or 2 p.m., your registration automatically will move to Jan. 30. Only if you can’t join us on the new date do we ask you to call your local store to cancel your registration.
Otherwise, we look forward to kicking off the 2016 kids club schedule and making Valentine’s Day arrangements with you on Jan. 30.
Royer’s Kids Club announces 2016 schedule of free events
Royer’s Kids Club is returning with five free events in 2016, giving children ages 5 through 12 the opportunity to make floral projects and play an important role in our biggest charitable events.
Kids club events always take place on Saturdays in all of our stores, with time slots available at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.
This year’s schedule and themes:
Jan. 23: Valentine’s Day
March 12: Easter
June 18: Royer’s Stems Hunger food drive
Aug. 20: Back to school
Oct. 29: Bouquets for Books children’s book drive/Halloween

Barnes & Noble, Midtown Scholar lending support for Royer’s annual children’s book drive
A couple of familiar names are helping us write a new chapter in the history of our annual children’s book drive.
Book stores Barnes & Noble and the The Midtown Scholar are lending their support to the 2015 edition of Bouquets for Books, which collects new children’s books for area public libraries.
The event runs Oct. 31-Nov. 7 in all of our stores.

Barnes & Noble will play host to a series of book fairs to benefit the library systems in Cumberland (Oct. 31-Nov. 2), Dauphin (Nov. 3-5) and York (Nov. 6-8) counties.
Customers will have an opportunity to designate their sales on those dates to the library systems, which will receive at least 10 percent of the sales during their book fairs.
What’s more, customers will be able to purchase books and donate them directly to Bouquets for Books. These donors will receive vouchers redeemable at any Royer’s (with proof of purchase) for a free bouquet.
Also in conjunction with the book fairs, Barnes & Noble and the library systems will hold free story times:
- Cumberland County, every 30 minutes from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Nov. 2, with cookies and a craft;
- Dauphin County, 11 a.m. Nov. 5, with cookies and coloring;
- York County, 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. Nov. 6, with cookies and coloring.

The Midtown Scholar will have a Bouquets for Books display table at the front of its store, featuring some of the titles that appear on the Dauphin County Library System’s wish list. Through Nov. 7, these books are available at 10 percent off list price.

Kids club event Oct. 31 helps kick off book drive for public libraries
It’s boos and bouquets Oct. 31 when we kick off our annual children’s book drive with a kids club event.
Children ages 5 to 12 are asked to bring a new children’s book as the price of admission. Participants will get to make a fall arrangement (photo) and will receive a balloon.
Because the event coincides with Halloween, participants are encouraged to wear their trick-or-treat costumes.
Time slots are available at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.
Registration is required by calling your nearest Royer’s store.
Royer’s “Bouquets for Books” book drive benefits area public libraries. Marking its 10th year in 2015, the event has collected nearly 14,000 books for the libraries.

Sixth-grader Kaitlynn Balmer-Brown wins Royer’s Kids Club birthday card design contest
Kaitlynn Balmer-Brown has been dancing since age 3, studying jazz, tap and ballet. She also expresses herself through art, drawing graffiti-like designs on paper.
“She was good in art class,” said her stepmother, Emily Brown.
And she was plenty good enough to win the Royer’s Kids Club birthday card design contest.
The Lower Paxton Township sixth-grader’s drawing of a flower and balloons graces the electronic card that Royer’s Kids Club members will receive on their birthdays in the coming year. For Kaitlynn’s effort, she will receive a flower delivery on her next birthday.
The Royer’s Kids Club is free to ages 5 to 12. With parental permission, children may register for the kids club at any Royer’s store or online at www.royers.com/kidsclub.
Royer’s Kids Club celebrates start of new school year with free event Aug. 22
Before they go back to school, they can go back to the Royer’s Kids Club.
We’ll celebrate the start of a new school year with a free kids club event Aug. 22 in each of our 16 stores.
Children ages 5 to 12 will have an opportunity to create an arrangement adorned with a “back-to-school” stick-in. Participants also will receive a free balloon.

Kids club: books for families to read aloud together
As we noted in the June 2015 issue of the Royer’s Kids Club newsletter, Buds, it’s important to keep reading and learning even during summer vacation. Here’s an expanded version of a list of books that families can read aloud together that we touched on in Buds:

Royer’s Kids Club birthday card design contest runs now through July 17
We’re looking for budding artists to enter our annual birthday card design contest.
The winning design will adorn the Royer’s Kids Club birthday card, which will be emailed to all kids club members on their birthdays. (You can see last year’s winning card to the left.)
The artist will receive free flowers on his or her birthday.
The contest is open to children ages 5 to 12. The deadline to enter is July 17.
The entry form may be downloaded at www.royers.com/kidsclub and dropped off at the nearest Royer’s.
